Farm Tasks for the Week

Transplanted out last month’s snapdragon starters. Once they have more than three sets of true leaves, they will be tip pruned. I’m going to attempt replanting the tips to see if they will root too (always experimenting). Also transplanted last fall planted snapdragons from the back flower plot to an upper square to prep for re-arranging of the back flower plot.

Transplanted some of the seedlings from last week (chamomile, statics, pincushion) into larger cells to give me more time before they will need to transplant. The carnations, dianthus, bluebonnets, ornamental kale, first round of foxglove, and delphinium are still waiting to be transplanted.

Got the first two of the six new beds laid out in the new bed. Plenty of dirt work left and plumbing, but on hold until we dry out a little for this week’s rain.

It’s time to direct seed your wildflowers (bluebonnets, bee balm, etc) if you’re planning to try this year.

Chickens

No news is good news on the chicken front. We have eggs available this week.
