In bloom
Lilies have had their burst of joy and are now storing up food for next year. We’re still harvesting bells of Ireland, gladiolus, lemon bee balm, yarrow, bachelor buttons, black & blue salvia, daisies, purple coneflowers, privet flowers, statice, roses, carnations, and hydrangea. We have the first cuts of liatris this week along with rudbeckia, and lisianthus! The sunflowers, zinnias, celosia, and basil are still babies, but growing up quickly.
Available Starters / Seeds
Seeds: Bluebonnets (manually scarified), bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, lime basil, blue spice basil, Persian basil, Thai basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, tassel flower, and marigold. Coming soon: chamomile and blue bachelor buttons (both for fall planting).
Starters: Black & Blue Salvia, tarragon, yarrow, oregano, catnip, marjoram, curly parsley, orange thyme, spearmint, rosemary, lavender, sweet 100 tomatoes, better boy tomatoes, Genovese basil, sweet basil, lime basil, coleus, dill, & cilantro.
Farm Tasks for the Week
Started more celsoia and zinnias indoors for future transplant.
Finished cleaning up and scarifying the bluebonnet seeds. Been collecting bachelor button seeds, but waiting until done collecting for the final clean-up.
Roughed up a small section along the outside front fence line and seeded zinnias. We lost a large oak up there this past year, so hoping they’ll take with the added sunshine.
It’s time to feed the roses (every 6 weeks during blooming season).
Chickens
Chickens are doing well. I think the guinea hen has acclimated to Dad working on the planter by the coop as it has stopped constantly screaming about it, haha. We have eggs available. If you’d like to reserve, email/text.

We actually beat the squirrels to the apricots this year, so we will have apricot jam. We’ve also gone out picking blackberries. We have the following jams available:
