We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 8 - 11 am and Saturday the Coppell Farmers Market & the Keller Farmers Market from 8 am - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph) on Sunday.
In bloom
Shasta Daisy, Carnation, and Bells of Ireland are pretty much done. Snapdragons are putting out a few select blooms but have the black fuzzy orange caterpillars. Zinnias, sunflowers, rudbeckia, celosia, pincushions, and basil blooming with a few dahlias!
Available Starters / Seeds
Seeds: Cilantro, catnip, parsley, dill, morning glory, bells of Ireland, chamomile, bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, blue spice basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, and marigold.
Starters: We have Fireworks Gomphrena, Coleus, Catnip, Curly Parsley, Peppermint, apple mint, Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, and Basil (Sweet, Genovese, Globe, Lime).
Farm Tasks for the Week
It’s hot! Watering and then watering again. Transplanted out some more sunflowers. The ones that didn’t get zapped by the heat got cut off at the ground. Direct seeded some and will be setting up some shade cloth to help them have a good start.
Laying cardboard and mulching the walkways in the “new” bearded iris / wildflower rows finally.
Chickens
One of the new chicks is a baby rooster, yikes! He’s pretty aggressive, so he will be finding a new home. We are out of eggs this week. The girls are surviving the heat.
