We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 8 - 11 am and Saturday the Coppell Farmers Market & the Keller Farmers Market from 8 am - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph) on Sunday.

In bloom

Zinnias, sunflowers, rudbeckia, celosia, pincushions, basil, and dahlia on repeat. Still waiting for the gomphrena to hit their stride.

Available Starters / Seeds

Seeds: Cilantro, catnip, parsley, dill, morning glory, bells of Ireland, chamomile, bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, blue spice basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, and marigold.

Starters: We have Fireworks Gomphrena, Coleus, Catnip, Curly Parsley, Peppermint, apple mint, Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, and Basil (Sweet, Genovese, Globe, Lime).

Farm Tasks for the Week

The rain was a great blessing this week. Took the edge off the summer, but it looks like the heat will get turned back up soon.

Some of the direct seeded sunflowers have sprouted. Monitoring the situation. Transplanted out three trays of zinnias just before the rain. Hoping the “cold” snap will have given them the head start they need before we head back into the 100’s.

Got over half the cardboard/mulching done on the “new” bearded iris / wildflower rows.

Chickens

Let the chickens have a yard roaming day which ended in disaster. Miscounted when putting them up and the dog got the two that had lagged behind. I guess we hadn’t had enough chicken trauma for too long.
