We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 8 - 11 am and Saturday the Coppell Farmers Market & the Keller Farmers Market from 8 am - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph) on Sunday.

I think we’ll be on repeat the rest of the summer: Zinnias, lisianthus, snapdragons, sunflowers, rudbeckia, celosia, pincushions, basil, dahlia, and gomphrena.

Available Starters / Seeds

Seeds: Cilantro, catnip, parsley, dill, morning glory, bells of Ireland, chamomile, bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, blue spice basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, and marigold.

Starters: We have Coleus, Catnip, Curly Parsley, Peppermint, apple mint, Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, and Basil (Genovese, Globe, Lime).

We will have BEARDED IRIS RHIZOMES 1st weekend of August, so stay tuned.

Farm Tasks for the Week

It was a hot week. Started digging up the gladiolus bulbs (not necessary if you want to keep them where they are). We will be cover cropping part of the beds over the winter, so need the space.

Direct seeded sunflowers went well until something ate them all to the ground. I’m assuming it the bunny. The transplanted zinnias appear to still be doing alright.

Ran out of cardboard for now, but close to done cardboard/mulching the “new” bearded iris / wildflower rows.

Put in order for some fall shipped perennials. Going to try out some baptisia, toad lily, and japanese anemones in some of the shady parts of our planters. The yellow columbine from last fall was a success so trying to build more variety around that.

Chickens

Chickens are fine enjoying their foot baths to beat the heat. The chicks are growing quickly, but still not big enough to join the rest of the flock.
