We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 8 - 11 am, the Coppell Farmers Market Saturday from 8 - noon, and Saturday the Keller Farmers Market from 8 am - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph) on Sunday.

In bloom

Mostly a repeat from last week on varieties: Zinnias, lisianthus, snapdragons, celosia, pincushions, basil, and gomphrena. The dahlias have pretty crispy, so I think they are done for the season. This is also likely the end of the sunflowers as later successions only succeeded in feeding the squirrels and rabbits as delicious microgreens.

Available Starters / Seeds

Seeds: Cilantro, catnip, parsley, dill, morning glory, bells of Ireland, chamomile, bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, blue spice basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, and marigold.

Starters: We have Coleus, Curly Parsley, Peppermint, apple mint, Rosemary, and Basil (Genovese, Globe, Lime).

BEARDED IRIS RHIZOMES are dug and ready for sale: Pink Opal, Silver Tower, Orange Pop, Men in Black, Shannopin, Mariposa Skies, Snoqualmie, Anembo, Goldilocks, First Interstate, Dreamy & Creamy, Wichita Falls, Stardust Memories, and Victoria Falls.

Farm Tasks for the Week

Dug some more gladiolus along with lily bulbs for winter storage. Almost done with the patch of gladiolus.

Still trimming the iris fans and cleaning out their beds of yellowed leaves, etc. Will be redoing the bed on the lower part of the driveway: dig up all rhizomes, add compost, rototill, add a couple of walkways for easier cleanout, and replant the rhizomes.

Finished the fall planting plan. Things never go exactly as planned, but it’s always good to have a general blueprint of how you think it will go.

Chickens

No chicken drama this week, so happy about that.
