We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 8 - 11 am, the Coppell Farmers Market Saturday from 8 - noon, and Saturday the Keller Farmers Market from 8 am - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph) on Sunday.

We are still on the summer repeat: Zinnias, lisianthus, snapdragons, celosia, pincushions, basil, and gomphrena. We also have a little bit of wheat and goldenrod to mix things up.

Available Starters / Seeds

Seeds: Cilantro, catnip, parsley, dill, morning glory, bells of Ireland, chamomile, bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, blue spice basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, and marigold.

Starters: We have Coleus, Curly Parsley, Peppermint, apple mint, Rosemary, and Basil (Genovese, Globe, Lime).

BEARDED IRIS RHIZOMES are dug and ready for sale: Pink Opal, Silver Tower, Orange Pop, Men in Black, Shannopin, Mariposa Skies, Snoqualmie, Anembo, Goldilocks, First Interstate, Dreamy & Creamy, Wichita Falls, Stardust Memories, and Victoria Falls.

Farm Tasks for the Week

Dug some more gladiolus along with lily bulbs for winter storage. Will begin digging up the dahlias as they are extra extra crispy. Flagged the peonies as they are also crisping up and will need to know where they are when we plant the new additions later this year.

Still trimming the iris fans and cleaning out their beds of yellowed leaves, etc. Finished the back fence line, the vegetable garden, the vegetable garden perimeter, and both driveway planters. Will be working on the front fence line this week.

Spraying BT for caterpillars weekly as the leaf rollers are working night and day to get a foothold. I feel like I’m staying ahead of them at least for now, but I’m aware of how quickly things can turn.

Chickens

Took the baby rooster back to the feed store. The rest of the “babies” are actually getting pretty big. I think they’ll join the rest of the flock next month.
