We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 8 - 11 am and Saturday the Keller Farmers Market from 8 am - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph) on Sunday.
In bloom
This week has not been in the 100’s, so all the blooms are very grateful. Zinnias, lisianthus, snapdragons, celosia, pincushions, basil, goldenrod, and gomphrena are still blooming.
Available Starters / Seeds
Seeds: Cilantro, catnip, parsley, dill, morning glory, bells of Ireland, chamomile, bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, blue spice basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, and marigold.
Starters: Will have coleus available at markets this weekend.
BEARDED IRIS RHIZOMES are dug and ready for sale: Pink Opal, Silver Tower, Orange Pop, Men in Black, Shannopin, Mariposa Skies, Snoqualmie, Anembo, Goldilocks, First Interstate, Dreamy & Creamy, Wichita Falls, Stardust Memories, and Victoria Falls.
Farm Tasks for the Week
First round of indoor spring starters is looking pretty good. I have been diligent on keeping them moist and relatively cool. Germination rates are higher than my usual, so success!
Outdoor the focus has been on watering. Trying to get through the end of August.
Chickens
Egg production is still very low with the heat. Last week during the 100’s weather, one of the chickens opted for a water “birth” as there was an egg in their water bowl. You know it’s hot when you can’t go into your laying box!
