We will be taking a break from markets this weekend to observe Holy Week. However, you can pick up fresh flowers for Easter from our self-service flower cart at the end of the driveway Saturday morning (4/19) from 8-noon.

In bloom
The ranunculus, anemone, snowflakes are going dormant while the bluebonnets are starting to go to seed. The Dutch iris, snapdragons, bearded iris, chamomile, roses, and clematis are blooming like crazy this week. The poppies, dianthus, bachelor buttons, peonies, nicotiana, delphinium, and phlox are still on the upswing. Debuting this week: foxglove, tassel flower, verbena, and Siberian wallflower.

Seeds: Bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, lime basil, blue spice basil, Persian basil, Thai basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, tassel flower, and marigold.
Starters: cauliflower, tarragon, yarrow, apple mint, queen Anne’s lace, oregano, catnip, green beans, marjoram, curly parsley, orange thyme, mint, rosemary, lavender, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet 100 tomatoes, better boy tomatoes, Genovese basil, sweet basil, lime basil, and coleus.
Farm Tasks for the Week
This week was a little bit of a break to enable catch up on many non-farm things that took a back burner the last few weeks.
Fertilized hydrangeas for their 2nd pre-bloom feeding.
Tagging bearded iris rhizomes for dividing in the fall. Looks like we’ll have even more varieties available this fall!
Chickens
Chickens are laying well, so we’re getting a steady supply of eggs. If the egg sign is present at the end of the driveway, then we have eggs available. Just push the call button on the keypad.
