We will be at the Robson Ranch Farmers Market TOMORROW Friday (4/11) from 8 am - 11 am and the ARGYLE Farmers Market Saturday (4/12) from 9 am - noon.
Free Spring Open House on the property this Friday and Saturday (4/11 and 4/12) from 2- 6 pm. We will also be hosting the Keep Argyle Beautiful Iris Show. To enter the contest, bring your best bearded iris bloom to the open house. Winners will be announced Saturday at 5 pm. Email / text / join newsletter mailing list for event address.
As always, stop by Argyle Party & Gift or Mugs Cafe & Bakery for small bouquets delivered fresh weekly!
In bloom
Ranunculus and anemones are slowing down especially with this mini heatwave. However, the bluebonnets, Dutch iris, snow drops, snapdragons, poppies, and dianthus are still in bloom. More and more varieties of bearded iris are blooming along with bachelor buttons, peonies, nicotiana, delphinium, phlox, chamomile, clematis, and roses.
Available Starters / Seeds
Seeds: Bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, lime basil, blue spice basil, Persian basil, Thai basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, tassel flower, and marigold.
Starters: Genovese basil, sweet basil, lime basil, sweet peas, and coleus are new this week. We still have tons of veggies and herbs available: cauliflower, tarragon, yarrow, apple mint, queen Anne’s lace, oregano, catnip, green beans, marjoram, curly parsley, orange thyme, mint, jalapenos peppers, rosemary, lavender, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, sweet 100 tomatoes, and better boy tomatoes.
Farm Tasks for the Week
Oak leaf cleanup is over (except for one patch … see if you can spot it this weekend)!
Prep for the open house is complete. All the beds have a new layer of mulch; the chickens have new bedding; and the property is tidied up.
Chickens
Egg production has ramped-up so we have plenty available this weekend. We will have them at both markets and the open house.

We have a large assortment of handmade pressed flower or quilled cards along with quilling kits. Tried pressing new flower this week, phlox. I’m very pleased with the results.
