We will be at the Robson Ranch Farmers Market TOMORROW Friday (4/4) from 8 am - 11 am and the Coppell Farmers Market Saturday (4/4) from 8-noon.

Free Spring Open House on the property next weekend April 11 and 12 (Friday and Saturday) from 2- 6 pm. We will also be hosting the Keep Argyle Beautiful Iris Show. To enter the contest, bring your best bearded iris bloom to the open house. Winners will be announced Saturday at 5 pm. Email / text / join newsletter mailing list for event address.

In bloom

Ranunculus, anemones, bluebonnets, Dutch iris, snow drops, snapdragons, poppies, and dianthus and still in bloom. More bearded iris varieties have begun to bloom. Flowers debuting this week in the gardens are bachelor buttons, nigella transformer, peonies, nicotiana, and delphinium!

Available Starters / Seeds

Seeds: Bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, lime basil, blue spice basil, Persian basil, Thai basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, tassel flower, and marigold.

Starters: The Genovese basil starters will be available at markets this weekend along with the usual suspect: broccoli, cauliflower, tarragon, yarrow, apple mint, queen Anne’s lace, larkspur, oregano, catnip, green beans, marjoram, curly parsley, orange thyme, mint, jalapenos peppers, rosemary, lavender, cucumbers, zucchini, and yellow squash. The tomatos still needs another week or so.

Farm Tasks for the Week

We are down to the last bed for oak leaf removal!

We are now working on mulching and tidying up everything for the big open house. Walkways in the front flower patch have been freshly mulched with wood chips from our many dead oak trees (removed last winter).

Chickens

Weeds are up, so mowed for the first time this season. The chickens love to follow behind to eat the disturbed bugs. Their favorite treat at the end of the day is a mower bag full of grass clippings. If you need eggs, email/text to reserve.
