Farm Tasks for the Week
The usual, caterpillar control, weeding, and fertilizing. Finished weeding and adding support to the back. Mulched all the rows except the final two that still need drip hose added. Planted a row of zinnias and some additional late seeded lisianthus. Only one small 8 ft section left unplanted in the back. It is really shady so need to get a little creative.
Next week will focus on the top planter. Happy to report that the dahlias are coming in nicely, and that we’ve put in an order for two more varieties of peonies in bulk.
Collecting bluebonnet, dill, Icelandic poppy, and phlox seeds.
Chickens
Ran into a disgusting pile of grubs in the leaf mulch pile i was using to mulch the back. Collected them and threw them in the chicken pen. Needless to say, the chickens gobbled them up in record time. Eggs are still at spring pricing.
