Flower cart was not out this Sunday due to the high winds.
We will be at Robson Ranch tomorrow (Friday) from 9 - noon and Keller Farmers Market Saturday from 8 - noon. The Sunday flower cart will be out from roughly 10:00 - 7:00 wind permitting (< 15 mph).
In bloom
This week had another bumper crop of lemon bee balm along with lilies! Forget-me-nots, bells of Ireland, gladiolus, hydrangea, and phlox are still going strong. Foxglove, snapdragons, statice, dianthus, Love-in-a-Mist, Shasta Daisy, Purple Coneflower, Yarrow, Carnation, larkspur, bachelor button, and verbena are also in bouquets. Sweet peas are still blooming, but are coming to the end of season, so will be cutting less to allow for more seeds.

Farm Tasks for the Week
Filled in celosia and sunflowers with starters to close the gap of most likely cut worm or sugar ant damage. Mom mixed up a peanut butter / borax concoction for the ants, and I’ve started spraying BT once a week for the cut worms (type of caterpillar). Hopefully something will stem the tide. Transplanted out half the gomphrena.
Direct seeded some zinnias by broadcasting in a couple of locations that have not been taking transplants well. We’ll see if bombardment works.
Chickens
Chickens are enjoying the cooler weather. Last week’s egg production was a little down with the hot snap, but now they’re back to laying at the higher spring rates. Eggs are still at spring pricing.
