Find us at the Robson Ranch Farmers Market Friday (7/11) from 8-11 am, the Keller Farmers Market Saturday (7/12) from 8-noon, and the Argyle Farmers Market Saturday (7/12) from 9 -noon. We will also have the Flower Cart out Sunday morning after 8:30 am.
In bloom
Celosia, zinnia, gomphrena, basil, rudbeckia, statice, dara (colored Queen Anne’s lace), and sunflowers are the bulk of the flowers this week. There is a sprinkling of snapdragons, gladiolus, bells of Ireland, yarrow, lemon bee balm, daisies, purple coneflowers, roses, carnations, and lisianthus. A few breakout stars this week are the tiger lily, limelight hydrangea, random late bloomer liatris, crocosmia, and a lone marigold, lol.
Available Starters / Seeds
Seeds: Dill (NEW!), Morning Glory (NEW!), Bells of Ireland (NEW!), chamomile, blue bachelor buttons, bluebonnets (manually scarified), bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, lime basil, blue spice basil, Persian basil, Thai basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, tassel flower, and marigold.
Starters: Genovese Basil (NEW!), Black & Blue Salvia, oregano, catnip, marjoram, curly parsley, orange thyme, spearmint, rosemary, lavender, and coleus.
Farm Tasks for the Week
Not much got done this week. Continuing to harvest and putting in those last-minute transplants for the fall.
Chickens
Found a baby copperhead! He managed to get stuck in the chicken wire of the chicken coop around eye level, yikes! We’re stocked back up on eggs.
